School Time = Field Trip Time!

Now that the kids are back to school, you may be thinking of taking a class or group on a field trip. There’s a lot of things to see and do that are only a short bus trip away.

Interesting Activities in Indiana

You don’t have to travel far for fun and educational things to do. Jasper, Indiana is home to the Spirit of Jasper Train, a fully restored passenger train that goes from Jasper to French Lick. Ride in comfort and take a step back in time as you ride the rails. They offer group discounts along with dinner cruises and fall foliage excursions.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is well known, and there’s a good reason: it’s unique, fun, and educational! A new exhibit, American POP, is a permanent addition to the museum and features music, movies, and more. Other exhibits include a circus you can star in, science experiments, dinosaurs, space, and more.

Do your students need to get outside and get some fresh air? IndiGo Birding Nature Tours offers tours to Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area, Yellowwood State Forest, Lake Monroe, and other beautiful sites to see a wide selection of nesting and migrant birds. IndiGo will take you on a tour and teach you about the birds in the Indiana area.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ohio

Adventures in Ohio

Ohio is full of fun and unique activities ranging from quiet places to the home of rock and roll. The Farm at Walnut Creek is home to over 500 animals including exotic animals like zebras and kangaroos. You can feed the animals from a horse-drawn cart or get even closer at the petting zoo. This working farm is in the middle of Amish country, so your students will have a unique experience.

If you need something a little more modern and louder than a working farm, take your group to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. Discounts are offered for groups and you can even see about your group performing if they are a musical group. The Hall of Fame has a special “Rockin The Schools” education program that includes admission to the Rock Hall, an educational program, and materials for the teachers to use.

If your group is looking for something more visual, a trip to the Toledo Museum of Art is an easy choice. The museum offers guided tours, workshops, guest presentations, and hands-on activities. This beautiful museum covers all styles from ancient Greek and Roman pieces to modern and contemporary art and everything in between. There are more than 30,000 pieces on 4.5 acres of exhibit space. In addition, the Toledo Museum of Art also features a 1,750 seat Peristyle concert hall, the Family Center, a cafe and the Museum Store.
